1 - Getting Started

Overview

This add-on is for users of Gmail and Google Spreadsheet.
(It is also available for those who use their company’s domain email address with Gmail.)

Installation

You can install it from Google Workspace Marketplace

How to send emails

1. Prepare your mailing list in Google Sheets
   Create a list of email addresses and the items you would like to insert into the emails as shown in the example below.
2. Create your email template in Gmail
   Open Gmail, click [Compose] and create a template.
   Enter {{column name}} in the subject line or body and the values in that column will be inserted into the email. ex: Hello, {{name}}.
   
3. Once you have created the template, press the x in the upper right corner to close it
   Make sure you have the created template in your drafts folder.
4. Reopen the spreadsheet you just created.
5. Click [Extensions]->[Mail Merge from Threeups]->[Start] in the menu.
6. Select the template you just created in the Template field
7. Select sender’s email address
8. Enter sender name
9. Select the column name of the recipient’s email addresses
10. Click [Send Test Email]
    An email generated based on the information in the first line will be sent to the logged-in account.
11. Check your gmail’s inbox to see if you received the test email and make sure the contents of the email is correct.
12. Click [Send] to start sending emails.
    A column named [SEND_STATUS] is added to the rightmost column. The word [Sent] is inserted to the column when an email has been sent successfully. If you close the dialog box, the sending process finishes.

Data Collection And Use

We do not store any of your personal data on anywhere. We do not share any of your personal data with anyone.

Logging

In order to find and fix bugs in our add-on, we log some of your activities to Google Cloud Logging in order to improve our service such as:

• how many emails have been sent
• error status and error information

We do not log any of your personal data such as:

• your emails
• your documents
• and any other information which can identify users.

Permission

When you install our add-on on your Google account, you are asked to accept the following authorizations:

• View your email messages and settings
  Our add-on use draft messages as email template.
  We need this permission to read your draft messages.
• Manage drafts and send emails
  We need this permission to send emails on your behalf.
• View and manage spreadsheets that this application has been installed in.
  We need this permission to read current spreadsheet and generate emails on your behalf.
• Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars inside Google applications
  We need this permission to show you modal dialog for the email settings of our add-on.

Disclosure

Mail Merge From Threeups’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes

We may change this privacy policy time to time.
Upon making changes, we will update the “Effective” date found at the top of this page.

4 - Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Agreement”) sets forth the general terms and conditions of your use of the “Mail Merge From Threeups” application (“Application”, “Service”, “App”, or “Add-on”) and any of its related products and services (collectively, “Services”). This Agreement is legally binding between you (“User”, “you” or “your”) and this Application developer (“Operator”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By accessing and using the Application and Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you are entering into this Agreement on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to this Agreement, in which case the terms “User”, “you” or “your” shall refer to such entity. If you do not have such authority, or if you do not agree with the terms of this Agreement, you must not accept this Agreement and may not access and use the Application and Services.

You acknowledge that this Agreement is a contract between you and the Operator, even though it is electronic and is not physically signed by you, and it governs your use of the Application and Services.

Acceptance of Terms

You acknowledge that you have read this Agreement and agree to all its terms and conditions. By accessing and using the Application and Services you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the terms of this Agreement, you are not authorized to access or use the Application and Services.

Specifically, Mail Merge From Threeups can only be installed from the Google Workspace Marketplace and when installing, Google will prompt you to accept this Agreement: “By clicking Continue, you acknowledge that your information will be used in accordance with the terms of service and privacy policy of this application.”

Description of Service

Mail Merge From Threeups is an add-on for Google Sheets that automates the sending of emails using the Gmail API. The Service is offered and provided subject to these Terms and solely for Your business purposes. You may connect to the Service using any Internet browser supported by the Service.

The Service requires a Google account (Gmail or Google Workspace account) that will be used to access the Service configuration console, and a Google Sheets data which will contain the data processed by the Service.

You understand and acknowledge that You are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining the Internet access and all equipment necessary to use the Service, for appropriately configuring Your Google account, and for creating and managing the datasource and its content. All fees associated with the foregoing shall be paid by You.

Use of Service

If you create a Google account to use the Add-on, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and you are fully responsible for all activities that occur under the account and any other actions taken in connection with it. We will not be liable for any acts or omissions by you, including any damages of any kind incurred as a result of such acts or omissions.

We may suspend, disable, or delete your Mail Merge From Threeups account (or any part thereof) if we determine that you have violated any provision of this Agreement or that your conduct or content would tend to damage our reputation and goodwill. If we delete your account for the foregoing reasons, you may not re-register for our Services. We may block your email address and Internet protocol address to prevent further registration.

Google might also suspend, disable, or delete your Google account if they determine that you have violated any provision of their Agreement or that your conduct or content would tend to damage their reputation and goodwill (eg: if you are using your Google account and Mail Merge From Threeups to send spam or phishing email). We will not be liable for any act from Google on your Google account.

Prohibited Uses

In addition to other terms as set forth in the Agreement, you are prohibited from using the Add-on and Services or Content:

for any unlawful purpose;

to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts;

to violate any international, federal, provincial or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances;

to infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others;

to harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate, or discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, or disability;

to submit false or misleading information;

to upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code that will or may be used in any way that will affect the functionality or operation of the Application and Services, third party products and services, or the Internet;

to spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl, or scrape;

for any obscene or immoral purpose;

to interfere with or circumvent the security features of the Application and Services, third party products and services, or the Internet.

We reserve the right to terminate your use of the Application and Services for violating any of the prohibited uses.

Intellectual property rights
“Intellectual Property Rights” means all present and future rights conferred by statute, common law or equity in or in relation to any copyright and related rights, trademarks, designs, patents, inventions, goodwill and the right to sue for passing off, rights to inventions, rights to use, and all other intellectual property rights, in each case whether registered or unregistered and including all applications and rights to apply for and be granted, rights to claim priority from, such rights and all similar or equivalent rights or forms of protection and any other results of intellectual activity which subsist or will subsist now or in the future in any part of the world.

This Agreement does not transfer to you any intellectual property owned by the Operator or third parties, and all rights, titles, and interests in and to such property will remain (as between the parties) solely with the Operator. All trademarks, service marks, graphics and logos used in connection with the Application and Services, are trademarks or registered trademarks of the Operator or its licensors. Other trademarks, service marks, graphics and logos used in connection with the Application and Services may be the trademarks of other third parties. Your use of the Application and Services grants you no right or license to reproduce or otherwise use any of the Operator or third party trademarks.

Changes and Amendments

These Terms are subject to occasional revision, and we reserve the right to modify this Agreement or its terms relating to the Add-on and Services at any time, effective upon posting of an updated version of this Agreement.

When we do, we will revise the updated date at the top of this page and make available on the same website.
Continued use of our Add-on and Services after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes.

Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF TITLE, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE MAKE NO WARRANTY THAT:

THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, INTERRUPTIONS THAT OCCUR IN THE CONTEXT OF REGULARLY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE);

ANY INFORMATION OR ADVICE OBTAINED BY YOU IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE; OR

THE RESULTS OF USING THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF AN IMPLIED WARRANTY, SO THIS DISCLAIMER MAY NOT APPLY TO USERS.
